The “Pooja” ceremony is dedicated to the different spirits; this one was in honour of “Nae yakka”, the sacred mountain of the Veddas. The shaman is the only one who can decide on the day and place of the ceremony. To the rhythm of drums, the offerings are made to the spirits.
Fallen into a trance, the Veddas dance around the fire beseeching  prosperity.
